Recommended Art Supplies

We are using acrylic paint in this course. To enjoy these lessons, you will want to use paint with some body. Gouache would be an ok substitute. These lessons really don't support learning watercolor, but the color theory applies to all types of art.

• An art journal with mixed media paper (any size)
• Or a composition notebook
• Really, any notebook that is low stakes and you enjoy working in
• Acrylic Paint Heavy Flow
  • Primary Magenta
  • Primary Yellow
  • Primary Cyan
  • Titanium White or White Gesso
  • Bone Black or Black Gesso
  • Plus all the colors you have on hand
• A variety of acrylic paint brushes. Small, big, flat, thin, pointed
• Acrylic paint pens
• Paint palette, palette pages, wax paper or anything to mix your paint on
• Book pages, copy paper, scraps of paper, index cards
• Liquid glue and glue stick
• Scissors

Optional

• Micron pens (or water-proof ink pens)
• White gel pens
• Permapaque black marker (or permanent black marker)
• Small and large circle templates
• Straight edge or ruler
