Supply List
This course is designed so that you can use whatever you have on hand. Please don't go out and buy a bunch of art supplies... unless you want to... which I totally get!
Doodle Prompt Cards
- A color printer
- 90lb card stock to print the cards on
- Paper Cutter or Trimmer (anything to quickly cut your cards)
- Corner Punch (optional to round the corners of your cards)
Drawing and Painting
In this course, I show you a variety of art supplies. Choose what you like or try them all. I personally like both watercolor and acrylic paint. So, I easily switch between the two depending on my mood. The rest of this list are all the products I used in the videos. Feel free to use your own art supplies.
- Watercolors and watercolor brushes
- Acrylic paint and acrylic paint brushes
- Markers of all colors (I use Tombow markers)
- Waterproof ink pens (I use Micron Pens from 01 to 10)
- Glitter gel pens
- White gel pens
- Acrylic paint pens
Art Journal or Paper
You can use anything you want. This is your art and your art journaling process. If you prefer paper, then try some nice watercolor paper or mixed media paper. Copy paper may be too fragile with wet media.
If you want to use a journal, the skies the limit. In many of the videos and photos, I used a composition notebook (9.75" x 7.5"). You can get something nicer that has nicer paper. I like working in cheap notebooks because it allows me to make mistakes and not worry about perfection. However, there are many times, I prefer to work with some nice paper and will work in another art journal. Choose what you like.
I found the composition notebook page spreads to be pretty large. The challenges took me hours to complete. If you like the idea of coming back to a page spread over time, then choose a larger size. However, if you are hoping to work quickly and complete a page spread within an hour or so, choose a smaller size notebook or paper. Or try different sizes to discover what you truly prefer. I tend to bounce around between the larger paper and smaller sizes.
